My Editor, Dindo, invited me to be part of a medical-dental mission in two barangays in Mindoro. Practically excited to be part of a charity cause and to be able to set foot in Mindoro pushed me into saying a big "Yes!"
We spent the day before the said event traveling, organizing the materials, and having fun at Fitta's Eden, an exclusive resort owned by a couple belonging to USTHS Batch '82 Alumni Association.
Pool dipping, target shooting, ATV riding, horse back riding, steam bath, and spa were among the delights during that day. Videoke, tequila shots, Mindoro sling shots, overflowing food, and unlimited laughter were the other delights.
The mission went on for half a day and around 500 patients were seen by either a physician or a dentist. There were also free services given to uncircumcised young boys.
During the culminating program, there were live band and fireworks. Truly, it was an amazing experience and I was glad to have not missed it.
